Wondering if you should move to the new L4 vaccines?
Leptospira vaccines have been available for a long time for active immunisation of dogs against Leptospira bacteria. Until recently, all the available vaccines targeted two types of the bacterium (Leptospira interrogans icterohaemorrhagiae and Leptospira interrogans canicola). A new, quadrivalent, vaccine containing two additional Leptospira types has become available (Nobivac L4), and this will soon be joined by two others (Canigen L4 and Versican Plus L4). What evidence is there to justify a change to the quadrivalent vaccines?
