The library contains succinct, clearly-written modules that take only 15 to 30 mins to complete, because we know how time-pressed veterinary professionals are, and we want to help them save time. Each module is a thoroughly-researched topic drafted by a specialist, circulated to a wide range of commentators including practising veterinary professionals, that undergoes a rigorous editing and checking process to ensure an accurate published module that is relevant to practice. All the modules include audio files and text, so you can listen as well as read, or download a podcast to listen to at your convenience.

  • Medicines certificates. Opportunity for your practice team members to gain a veterinary medicines certificate. We offer the Introductory Certificate, consisting of two (must do!) modules for anyone in the practice who has any dealings with medicines (essential for anyone new to working with medicines or new to UK practice); the Foundation Certificate, essential for anyone in the practice that is involved in dispensing medicines; the Enhanced Certificate, recommended for RVNs and dispensary managers; and the Prescribers’ Certificate for veterinary surgeons. A nominated person in the practice can have access to a dashboard for assigning certificates to team members and monitoring progress and CPD achievement.

  • Library of CPD modules. Certificated CPD quizzes in each module. Note-taking area to record personal notes. Tips for reflective exercises to help with objective-led CPD. Dedicated CPD libraries for vets and for vet nurses/SQPs (SQP/RAMA accredited).

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Practice subscriptions cost £600 +VAT for 12 months .It’s a rolling contract you can cancel anytime.

  • As many as you like - it's up to you. Vets can be set up with access to the vet library while receptionists, vet nurses, and SQPs can be set up with access to their own specific library.

  • The vet modules are written with prescribers in mind, and so they tend to include more details about clinical trial evidence. The vet nurse/SQP modules have more content focused on non-prescription medicines. The vet nurse/SPQ modules are accredited by the SQP regulators AMTRA, Vetpol and VetSkill.

  • The content is mainly focused on companion-animal practice. However there is a lot of general content on regulation and practical use of medicines that is relevant to all branches of veterinary practice

  • It’s a rolling 12 month contact you can cancel anytime.

  • Once you have paid you will have access to all the facilities we provide to our practice subscribers. You can use the subscriber’s medicines channel Spotlight on Medicines which contains all the info and tutorials you will need to set up your team.

  • As a practice subscriber you have direct access to Andrea through the Ask Andrea! medicines information service for help with any queries on medicines. Many subscribers' questions go on to become modules. As a practice subscriber you can suggest topics.

  • We are experts in searching for information on medicines, critically appraising the evidence, integrating it with practical and regulatory information and presenting it succinctly for use by veterinary professionals. We are completely independent of the pharmaceutical industry: we don’t sell ads, or receive commercial sponsorship. We’re funded by subscribers so you can be sure the information we provide is completely objective.

  • Our content is written primarily for veterinary practitioners in the UK, which means that the information is presented in the context of UK regulations and the products that are available in the UK. Nevertheless, much of the information is applicable in other countries and we have subscribers from all around the world.
